Tamil Nadu is a beautiful state nestled in the southern Indian peninsula,

Major cities in Tamilnadu
Chennai
Chennai has a history of over 2,000 years. Initially a collection of villages,
it is today one of the largest cities of India, with a cosmopolitan society.
The area has been a popular trading port, especially among spice and cloth
merchants.
Trichy
The most famous land mark of this bustling town is the Rockfort Temple,
a spectacular monument perched on a massive rocky out crop which rises
abruptly from the plain to tower over the old city. It is reached by the
flight of steep steps cut into the rock and from its summit you get a
fantastic view of the town plus its other main landmark.
Madurai
Madurai is the second largest city of Tamil Nadu, a southern state in
India. MADURAI,the abode of Goddess Meenakshi,is also the famous and ancient
home of Tamil culture. The first Tamil Academy was founded here by saintly
scholars and pious kings and it is believed that the great Hindu God Siva
participated in the labours of the academy which set the standards of
poetic excellence and literacy criticism.Madurai was an important cultural
and commercial centre even as early as 550 AD. Madurai was the capital
city for the great Pandya kings.
Tirunelveli
Tirunelveli - popularly known by its pet name Nellai is a land of sages
– much evident from epics and puranas . Christening of this place
itself bears testimony to its antiquity and divinity.
Coimbatore
Coimbatore has a population of 15 lakh people. It is exposed to the Palghat
gap of Western ghats it enjoys a salubrious climate. The climate is comfortable
throughout the year. The maximum temperature is around 32 degrees celcius
Thanjavaur
Thanjavur attained prominence under the Chola rulers who were paramount
in South India during 9th to 12th centuries. They were not only excellent
rulers but also mightly builders, who erected a large number of exquisite
temples in their empire, some of which constitute the finest specimens
of architecture.
