Bhubaneswar
The capital of the East Indian state of Orissa, Bhubaneswar extends from
latitude 20°15' North to longitude 85°52' East. An important city
of the temple triangle of Orissa, Bhubaneshwar has direct air, road, and
rail connection with the other major cities of India.
Cuttack
Cuttack is located in the eastern Indian state of Orissa around 30 km
off Bhubaneswar. The place extends from latitude 20°28¢ in the
North to longitude 85°54¢ in the East. The city is well connected
to other parts of Orissa and the country by the means of rail and road
network.
Konark
The temple city of Konark is situated in the eastern state of Orissa at
a distance of around 65 km from Bhubaneswar and 35 km from Puri. The city
extends between longitude 86.08°E and latitude 19.53°N.
Puri
Puri, situated in the eastern part of the state of Orissa, is one of the
four holy dhams of Hinduism and the hallowed seat of Lord Jagannath. Washed
by the waters of the Bay of Bengal and embraced by causarina-fringed beaches,
it is located at a distance of 60 km from the state capital Bhubaneshwar.
It is a famous beach on the eastern coastline of peninsular India. The
famous Rath Yatra or the Car Festival is held every year as a part of
the festival of the great Jagannath temple; it draws good number of pilgrims
from all over the world.
Gopalpur
Gopalpur-on-Sea is a beautiful and small beach resort located along the
Bay of Bengal in the eastern Indian state of Orissa. Gopalpur extends
from latitude 19°16' in the North to longitude 84°57' in the East.
The place is 16 km away form Berhampur, on the Howrah–Chennai main
line.
